About the Company:
You shall be working on our product getMerlin.in. Our vision is to make Merlin the Amazon of AI powered general products, giving users the best UX to use GPT on any platform (chrome, mobile, etc).
We’re a team of IIT Kanpur graduates, with first hand experience of working in international engineering and product teams. We have raised $1 Million from Better Capital (early investors in Slice, Teachmint, Khatabook) and operators of Oyo, NoBroker, Meesho among others.

What you will be working on:
- Our stack comprises NextJS for front-end with Firebase as database. Fully serverless backend being a mix of google cloud functions and Express+node hosted via cloud-run.
- Being a developer-first company, it’s critical for our success to lean on the engineering experience of the candidate to decide on product directions. So the candidate will have to have the ability to identify good vs bad UX.
- Apart from this everything that one could imagine running a startup form part of the responsibilities. That means talking to users, brainstorming on hypotheses, helping in marketing, building a brand etc.
Ideal Candidate:
- A generalist, ready to pick up anything and finish the task at hand even in uncharted territory.
- Extensive experience with Javascript, CSS, React/Next, Express
- Cares a lot about high quality, readable, structured code. Advocates best practices and architecture patterns. Is able to make trade-offs between extensibility, optimization and execution speed. Empowers others by reviewing code.
- Is autonomous, able to independently pick up tasks and full projects and work through them end-to-end
- Is product and user minded: is always focused on how their work will impact
